The Urban View
Frankfurt am Main 2026

Set atop Frankfurt’s skyline, this penthouse is conceived as a spatial framework that negotiates between geometry, openness, and panoramic orientation. The 360-degree exposure defines the project’s core condition — a continuous dialogue between interior space and the surrounding city.
The 400-square-metre layout is structured to maintain a sense of openness while establishing a clear and legible zoning. Rather than relying on rigid separations, the organisation follows a fluid spatial logic, where transitions are defined through shifts in proportion, alignment, and perspective. Functional requirements are integrated into a cohesive architectural order that balances clarity with spatial generosity.
A central design intent was to anchor the interior within a timeless architectural language, mediating between classical references and contemporary precision. This approach allows the space to resonate with the building’s identity while establishing its own distinct spatial character.
Particular attention was given to the sequencing of spaces and the calibration of height and depth. The resulting spatial rhythm ensures a coherent perception, where each zone is experienced as part of a continuous whole rather than as isolated elements.
The large-format herringbone parquet plays a decisive architectural role. Beyond its material presence, it operates as an ordering device, visually resolving the tension between the orthogonal planning logic and the curvature of the façade. In doing so, it establishes continuity across the entire floor plate.
The terrace extends this spatial concept outward, forming a transitional layer between interior and exterior. It reinforces the project’s underlying principle: a precise yet fluid architecture that frames and enhances the relationship between space, structure, and skyline.
